Infusion & Specialty Pharmacy

Within our family of companies, Pediatric Health Choice, in conjunction with local and national pediatric specialty pharmacies, is the provider of choice for Infusion and Pharmaceutical services. In Florida, infusion and specialty pharmacy services are fully integrated into our health care delivery model. Children who require these services receive them as part of their daily plan of care at one of our Medical Day Health Centers or through their prescribed home care program.

The majority of medically-challenged, special needs children require some form of infusion or pharmacological services during their course of treatment. Pediatric Health Choice works hand in hand with pediatric specialty pharmacies to offer a complete range of sophisticated infusion-injection therapy treatments including: Parenteral Nutrition Therapies; IV Antibiotics; Immune Globulin; Biologic Response Modifiers including Epogen & Neupogen; Cystic Fibrosis; Hydration; Desferal; Chemotherapy; Growth hormone; Factor and other specialty injectable medications.

As part of the Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy program, dosage calculations, special compounding and preparation are performed in a “USP 797” compliant clean room facility. Moreover, the pharmacists are trained to provide special attention to the unique needs of medically-complex children, committed to routinely providing clinical consultation, disease management and education in conjunction with the child’s prescribing physician.

By working with local and national pediatric specialty pharmacies to provide these professional Infusion and Pharmaceutical services, as part of our coordinated comprehensive service delivery model, we reduce the overall need to hospitalize infants and children for short and long term infusion therapy.
